Parents Day Out Program

Tuesdays & Thursdays 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

mission statement

The mission of Kingdom Cubs Academy is to honor the Lord Jesus Christ by providing students an education based upon academic excellence and biblical values. We seek to positively impact our culture by promoting truth, advancing the Christian faith, and equipping even our youngest students to love and serve the Lord from an early age.

We desire to give our students a solid Christian foundation which will allow them to go on to grow in their faith in school while developing Christ like character in attitudes and actions. We strive to achieve this by partnering with parents and committed Christian teachers who will exemplify the Christ-like character expected of their young students.

program philosophy

It is the philosophy of Kingdom Cubs Academy to approach early childhood education from a Biblical perspective that recognizes the sovereignty and authority of God in all things.

Young children learn most effectively when they are engaged in an environment where interactions are all at high levels. Learning is seen as an active process where knowledge is constructed as well as acquired.

The staff believes in a warm, nurturing relationships that provides children with a safe environment in which to learn about the world around them. Kingdom Cubs seeks to have teachers and parents working as a team to provide the learning experiences that nurtures a child’s mind, heart and above all else, their recognition of Jesus Christ.

curriculum

Our program is designed for children ages one through five in Pre-K.    The curriculum and instructional strategies are based on developmentally and age appropriate practices.  These strategies provide a balance of child-initiated and teacher-initiated activities, which enhances the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development of each child.

In addition to Kindergarten readiness lessons, we offer Biblically-based curriculum from Bible stories that can be applied to each child's developmental age and lifestyle. Children also participate in many electives to keep them actively engaged throughout the day in chapel, music, fine arts, recreation and outside time, science and math skills courses.

Lauren Morris, Program Director

Blessed beyond measure, I seek to serve others so they may also enjoy the fullness of life God provides. Crossview Church has been my family's home since 2011 when we moved to the area after my husband discharged from the military. Through my time here, I have served in almost every ministry but really found my calling with the Preschool/Children's Team and on the Praise & Worship Team.

In Education, I pursued an undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor and continued to study cognitive development with a Master’s degree. I later became a Certified Cognitive Trainer, enabling me to serve children with learning disabilities so they could reach a higher potential than imagined. Professionally, I have worked in different realms of Education for over 15 years, through many Administrative and Student Services roles, starting with adult learners through preschool learners. After my second son was born in 2015, God began a strong tug at my heart to become more connected to His ministry at Kingdom Cubs, so I resigned from the corporate world, trusting God as I began working in His preschool mission field. I taught the 2-year-old class for three years, moved into leading  music and chapel for a year, serving as the Special Programs’ Director for the Christmas Musical and Pre-K Graduation, and then in 2019 I moved into Administration as the Academy Records Specialist. Now, it is my honor to be called on once again as the Interim Director as God moves in the Kingdom Cubs Program.

I do believe that our preschool program is a true mission, serving the entire family with Christ’s love as we help these precious little ones grow cognitively, socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. My passion for creative development drives a desire to help teachers reach their maximum potential through innovative teaching techniques while my heart for children’s ministry brings enthusiasm and a genuine fun-loving spirit allowing trust relationships to develop between myself, teachers, students, and families. It is my pleasure to serve alongside you in Kingdom Cubs and I look forward to developing our relationships further!
